State Licensed Deputy General Counsel

Job Summary

Providing executive leadership and legal oversight, the full-time remote State Licensed Deputy General Counsel will manage the Asset Resolution Department, directing nationwide default litigation and legal recovery strategies while overseeing a team of Asset Resolution counsel and outside counsel relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive legal recovery strategies across various litigation and recovery processes, including foreclosure and bankruptcy
• Oversee the Asset Resolution legal team, ensuring accountability for legal strategy and performance across approximately 342 active cases
• Manage relationships with outside counsel, setting litigation strategies and monitoring legal spending to align with company objectives

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 10+ years of substantive legal experience in multi-state foreclosure and default litigation
• Demonstrated experience overseeing high-volume litigation portfolios and managing legal teams
• Strong understanding of bankruptcy proceedings, creditor recovery matters, and litigation strategy development
• Experience working with C-suite executives and cross-functional stakeholders in a high-volume environment
