Job Summary
Providing comprehensive personal financial counseling services remotely, the full-time State Licensed Financial Counselor will assist military service members and their families with financial education, one-on-one counseling, and resource referrals while coordinating workshops and classes tailored to their needs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families
- Develop and facilitate a variety of financial management classes and workshops on topics relevant to the military lifecycle
- Utilize virtual counseling methods and maintain communication with installation leadership regarding trends and issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (associate degree plus 4 years or high school diploma plus 6 years)
- Minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship and fluency in English; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) required
- Ability to pass a Tier 2 investigation and comply with organizational conflict of interest disclosures
