State Licensed General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Counsel to lead its legal function and team while serving on the executive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing legal team while managing legal strategy and operations
• Oversee legal matters related to AI, product, commercial agreements, and data privacy compliance
• Advise on corporate governance, M&A, and strategic transactions while managing risk effectively

Required Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
• 15+ years of legal experience, preferably in-house at a high-growth technology company
• Experience as General Counsel, Deputy GC, or VP of Legal at a scaled tech company
• Deep expertise in AI and product law, commercial transactions, data privacy, and corporate governance
• Proven ability to build and lead legal teams in a fast-paced, asynchronous environment
