Job Summary

Offering a remote contract opportunity, the Fractional Chief Legal Counsel or General Counsel will provide strategic legal advice to alternative asset firms and family offices, focusing on regulatory compliance, fund formation, and legal guidance on investment transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic legal advisor on legal and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with relevant securities laws and regulations
• Lead fund formation and structuring, drafting and negotiating key legal documents for various investment vehicles
• Manage relationships with outside counsel and oversee legal budgets while providing training on legal and regulatory issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree with membership in good standing of the bar in one or more U.S. states
• 12+ years of experience as Chief Legal Counsel or General Counsel in a Hedge Fund or Family Office
• 8+ years of experience with federal securities laws and regulations applicable to financial institutions
• Extensive experience with various investment vehicles and regulatory agencies in the U.S. and abroad
