Job Summary

To support commercial health insurance underwriting, the full-time remote State Licensed Health Actuary will evaluate risk, analyze claims data, and collaborate with sales teams to develop competitive insurance products while residing in the Eastern or Central time zone.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze health insurance applications to determine risk and set premium rates
• Interpret and analyze claims experience to inform underwriting decisions and policy adjustments
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop competitive insurance products and strategies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• Professional actuarial credentials (e.g., ASA, FSA) are required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial health insurance underwriting
• Experience working with sales teams in competitive situations is highly desirable
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and risk assessment
