Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder IV - Inpatient Coder (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze physician/provider documentation to determine diagnoses and procedures for inpatient health records
• Utilize encoder software to assign appropriate coding and ensure accurate hospital reimbursement
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve billing and claims issues affecting reimbursement

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an AHIMA-approved coding program or an Associate's degree in Health Information Management or a related field
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is required
• Three years of current acute care or inpatient coding experience
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding guidelines
• Proficiency in using encoding/grouping software and Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) is preferred
