State Licensed Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support healthcare operations, the full-time State Licensed Inpatient Coder will accurately abstract and enter data into electronic medical record systems, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to inpatient accounts following established guidelines
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements
• Query physicians to clarify clinical information and communicate documentation improvement opportunities

Required qualifications

• Valid CCS credential from AHIMA
• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience in large Academic/Trauma 1 settings (600+ bed facilities)
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding
• Experience with Epic & Solventum preferred
• 3+ years of coding experience within the U.S. required
