Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time State Licensed Inpatient Coding Specialist will code inpatient rehabilitation facility records using current ICD coding standards, maintain coding schedules, and collaborate with the PPS Coordinator to assign impairment codes for admissions.
Key responsibilities
- Code IRF records accurately and within designated timeframes
- Maintain assigned coding schedules and collaborate with the PPS Coordinator/Outcomes Manager
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations
Required qualifications
- RHIT, RHIA, or coding certification (CCA, CCS, CPC, CIC) required
- Minimum of two years' current experience in inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding (UB04 and IRF PAI)
- Advanced computer knowledge and proficiency with basic office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and compliance with organizational policies
