State Licensed Interim General Counsel

Job Summary

Providing maternity coverage, the part-time State Licensed Interim General Counsel will lead the legal team, offering strategic legal counsel on corporate affairs, commercial transactions, and compliance while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and develop the legal team, setting priorities and managing outside counsel relationships
• Provide legal support for a variety of commercial contracts, including drafting and negotiating agreements
• Advise on compliance with data privacy laws and e-commerce regulations, ensuring legal adherence across business operations

Required qualifications

• JD degree with a license to practice in at least one state bar and in good standing
• Minimum of 10+ years of generalist legal experience, with prior in-house experience required
• Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
• Strong knowledge of data protection laws, consumer protection frameworks, and e-commerce regulations
• Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or e-commerce strongly preferred
