State Licensed Lead Counsel

Job Summary

To support a fast-growing company, the remote State Licensed Lead Counsel will manage commercial deals, provide legal counsel on regulatory and product matters, and handle the everyday legal needs of the business while working autonomously and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as the dedicated legal partner to product and business teams, advising on high-impact initiatives
• Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and management of various commercial agreements
• Continuously improve contract templates and legal processes to enhance efficiency across the business

Required qualifications:

• 6 to 11 years of combined law-firm and in-house experience, preferably in a SaaS or fintech environment
• JD from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in at least one US state
• Proven ability to operate independently and make judgment calls with limited oversight
• Strong command of technology and commercial contracting, with a focus on balancing risk and speed
• Comfort with various legal areas, including commercial, regulatory, privacy, and corporate matters
