State Licensed Legal Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Legal Counsel - Life Insurance/Annuity/Broker/Dealer (Temporary contract, Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice across various matters, including contracts, corporate transactions, governance, and compliance issues
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor and third-party agreements
• Manage litigation and disputes, including strategy and oversight of outside counsel

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a lawyer in the life insurance/annuity or related industry
• Strong knowledge of marketing, sales practices, and product development in financial products
• Prior experience with a large multinational law firm and/or in-house legal department
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar (preferably NY, TX, or CA)
• Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, without outside workloads
