Job Summary
To support a growing financial services company, the remote State Licensed Legal Counsel will navigate complex regulatory frameworks, provide legal guidance on U.S. broker-dealer regulations and digital assets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on product and regulatory reviews.
Key responsibilities
- Navigate regulatory frameworks to assist in the design and implementation of innovative financial products and services
- Lead legal reviews of product design and marketing to ensure compliance while facilitating business growth
- Monitor regulatory developments and support the company's engagement with relevant regulatory agencies
Required qualifications
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 5-7+ years of legal experience, with at least 3 years focused on U.S. broker-dealer regulation
- Familiarity with U.S. cryptoasset regulatory regimes and AML requirements
- Strong experience advising fintechs or financial institutions in a startup or growth-stage environment
- Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic legal advice under tight deadlines
