State Licensed Legal Director

Job Summary

Leading the commercial function, the full-time remote State Licensed Legal Director will serve as the key legal advisor on commercial transactions, negotiate complex SaaS agreements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support revenue-generating activities.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS and professional services contracts
• Partner with Sales and Services teams to efficiently drive deals to closure while ensuring legal compliance
• Provide strategic legal guidance on RFPs and government procurement processes, and develop scalable legal processes

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school
• Active membership in at least one state bar, with eligibility to practice in the state of residence
• 6+ years of legal experience, including a minimum of 3 years in-house at a technology or SaaS company
• Strong experience negotiating commercial contracts, particularly with government entities
• Solid understanding of SaaS business models and software licensing
