State Licensed Managing Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Managing Counsel, Claims (Remote, HBW).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel to the Claims Department on various claims-related issues, including coverage opinions and large losses
• Advise on complex claims with potential extracontractual or bad faith exposure to facilitate resolution
• Conduct training for the Claims Organization on emerging legal trends and new laws relevant to claims handling

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing within the State of Practice
• 7 or more years of relevant experience in insurance defense or coverage work (preferred)
• Project management skills
• Experience with coverage analysis and complex attorney conditional demands in multiple jurisdictions (preferred)
