State Licensed MOT Principal Engineer

Job Summary

To support large transformative transportation projects, the full-time remote State Licensed MOT Principal Engineer will serve as the technical lead for Maintenance of Traffic, developing strategies and overseeing design teams while ensuring quality and innovation in traffic control solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for Maintenance of Traffic on multi-disciplinary transportation programs
• Develop project-wide MOT strategies, policies, and design criteria for major corridors and interchanges
• Lead risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to work zone traffic operations and safety

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 10 to 12 years of extensive experience in Maintenance of Traffic planning and design for major highway and bridge projects
• Recognized expertise in MUTCD and multiple state DOT MOT standards and policies
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Demonstrated experience leading MOT on mega-projects with complex staging and traffic management needs
