State Licensed Nuclear Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of next-generation advanced nuclear reactors, the remote contract Nuclear Equipment Design Engineer will create design solutions for reactor structures and components while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for pressure boundaries and internals in accordance with ASME Section III
• Develop and maintain design specifications, calculations, load evaluations, and qualification reports while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and optimize component performance

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent; additional relevant master's degree credited as two years' experience
• Minimum of 10 years of equipment or component design experience; active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
• Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III
• Proven experience certifying Design Specifications and Design Reports for nuclear pressure-retaining components
• Deep understanding of ASME Section III, NQA-1, and NRC regulations
