Job Summary
Providing essential personal financial counseling services, the remote State Licensed Personal Financial Counselor will support military service members and their families through education, one-on-one counseling, and workshops, while managing short-term assignments as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families
- Develop and conduct a variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops tailored to military lifecycle events
- Utilize virtual counseling methods and maintain communication with installation leadership regarding trends and issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (associate degree plus 4 years or high school diploma plus 6 years)
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship and fluent English proficiency; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- Ability to pass a Tier 2 investigation and comply with Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI)
