Job Summary
Seeking a full-time remote State Licensed Principal Investigator, the successful candidate will conduct and oversee archaeological field investigations, manage project documentation, and coordinate with clients and project managers while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct pedestrian walkover surveys, controlled surface surveys, and hand excavation while maintaining field records
- Author reports and documentation, including compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
- Coordinate project needs and communication between project managers, clients, and the cultural resource group
Required qualifications
- Graduate degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in conducting fieldwork, particularly pedestrian surveys and site testing
- Knowledge of state-specific cultural resource guidelines and federal regulations related to cultural resource management
- Experience leading field crews and managing project documentation
- Ability to write detailed archaeological reports and interpret technical instructions
