Job Summary

To advance its mission of enhancing the health system, a remote Associate General Counsel, Privacy will manage compliance with HIPAA and state privacy laws, advise on regulatory changes, and operationalize privacy programs while supporting Optum's business lines.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted privacy advisor, focusing on HIPAA and state privacy law compliance
• Advise on regulatory change management and support the implementation of emerging privacy requirements
• Lead responses to regulatory inquiries and provide privacy support for business associate agreements

Required qualifications

• JD Degree
• Current license to practice law
• 5+ years of experience practicing law
• 3+ years of experience in a privacy legal environment
• Experience in health care Privacy Law
