State Licensed Privacy Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Privacy Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with cross-functional teams to assess privacy and security risks and design mitigative measures
• Develop and implement privacy infrastructure, policies, and procedures to scale privacy initiatives
• Oversee privacy compliance functions, manage responses to privacy incidents, and support commercial transactions

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least one US state bar
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a privacy lawyer with knowledge of global privacy laws
• Strong understanding of the tech environment and ability to engage with software engineers
• Experience managing data security incidents and familiarity with data breach notification requirements
• Proficiency in negotiating and drafting complex contracts related to privacy and security
