State Licensed Product Counsel

Job Summary

Seeking a business-minded attorney, the full-time remote State Licensed Product Counsel will provide practical legal advice throughout the product development lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams to manage risk and support innovation in data and analytics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Product, Engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders on legal issues throughout the product development lifecycle
• Review and assess new products and features, providing timely legal guidance that balances risk management with innovation
• Counsel teams on intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, AI, security, and regulatory considerations affecting company products

Required qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• 4-7 years of relevant legal experience counseling SaaS companies
• Experience advising on open-source software licensing, compliance, and governance is a bonus
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while balancing competing priorities
• Experience using AI tools to enhance legal workflow efficiency
