State Licensed Product Counsel
Job Summary
To support its Product Legal team, the contract Product Counsel (Financial Services) will provide legal guidance on consumer financial services, payments, fraud prevention, privacy, and AI-enabled products while working remotely for 40 hours per week over a 6-month period.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on consumer protection, fraud prevention, payments, and regulatory matters affecting customer-facing products
- Counsel cross-functional teams on consumer protection, privacy, payments, and regulatory issues
- Draft and review customer communications, policies, and operational guidance related to consumer protection and dispute resolution
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as Product Counsel in fintech, payments, or consumer financial services
- Strong knowledge of KYC/CIP, Regulation E, Regulation Z, and consumer privacy regulations
- Experience advising on fraud, disputes, payments, and account security issues
- JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- Familiarity with AI governance and legal considerations for technology products
