State Licensed Product Counsel
Job Summary
To support a dynamic legal team, the full-time salaried State Licensed Product Counsel will embed with ClassPass's Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure legal compliance throughout the product lifecycle, focusing on consumer protection laws, privacy regulations, and marketing requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a proactive partner in the product development lifecycle, ensuring legal compliance from ideation to launch
- Monitor and analyze regulatory developments globally to maintain compliance with federal, state, and international laws
- Draft and update internal policies and contractual documentation, collaborating with various teams to support commercial negotiations
Required qualifications
- J.D. and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
- 7-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house and in the technology industry
- Strong experience advising on consumer protection laws in the US, UK, and Europe
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage cross-functional projects and competing priorities
- Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to apply legal advice to business needs
