State Licensed Regulatory Counsel

Job Summary

To support a leading technology company, the contract Regulatory Counsel (Fintech and Payments) will provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, monitor regulatory developments, and partner with cross-functional teams, working remotely for 40 hours per week over a 6-month period with potential for extension.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal advice on fintech and payments regulatory compliance matters
• Monitor regulatory developments and conduct impact assessments for regulatory change management initiatives
• Advise business teams on federal and state payments regulations and consumer financial protection laws

Required qualifications

• J.D. and active U.S. bar membership in good standing
• 6+ years of experience in fintech, payments, or financial services regulatory matters
• Strong knowledge of state and federal payments regulations
• Experience with consumer financial protection laws and regulatory change management
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
