State Licensed Release of Information Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time State Licensed Release of Information Specialist will manage complex release of information requests, provide training to peers, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining high productivity metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Process medical ROI requests efficiently using Verisma software applications
• Serve as an escalation point for HIPAA-related release issues and assist with training and mentoring of staff
• Maintain knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and state regulations while fostering positive customer relationships

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
• RHIT certification preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in medical records, ROI, or Health Information Management (HIM)
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations regarding Protected Health Information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMRs)
