Job Summary
Guiding inpatient and outpatient coding practices, the full-time State Licensed Senior Coding Manager will oversee coding staff, develop coding guidelines, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Oversees daily inpatient and outpatient coding practices, providing direction to coding staff and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards
- Develops and maintains standardized coding guidelines, integrating updates from official coding resources
- Manages responses to external audits and coding-related denial cases, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or a related field
- Minimum of five years of acute care hospital coding experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS
- At least three years of healthcare management experience
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential
- Preferred experience in an academic medical setting or trauma center
