State Licensed Senior Legal Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Legal Counsel - Finance/Insurance (Temporary contract, Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial contracts, corporate transactions, governance, litigation, regulatory, and compliance issues
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, distribution, and third-party agreements
• Manage litigation and disputes, including strategy and oversight of outside counsel

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a lawyer in the life insurance/annuity or related industry
• Focus on annuities, life insurance, or consumer financial products preferred
• Strong educational background with a B.A./B.S. and J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admittance to at least one state bar, preferably in NY, TX, or CA
• Prior experience with a large multinational law firm and/or in-house legal department
