State Licensed Underwriter III

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the State Licensed Underwriter III will evaluate and underwrite conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and other loan types while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess loan documents for accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Analyze loan applications to identify potential fraud and ensure all necessary documentation is complete
• Provide expert guidance and support to junior team members and assist in resolving complex underwriting issues

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college courses in Business, Finance, or related fields preferred
• Direct Endorsement (DE) certification and current certifications for assigned regions
• Five or more years of experience underwriting various loan types, including conventional and government loans
• Expert knowledge of mortgage lending processes and regulatory requirements
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate data and assess risks
