Job Summary

Leading the civil and human rights portfolio, the full-time State Licensed Vice President, Civil Rights will manage program teams focused on immigrants' rights and gender justice while serving as the organization's external voice on related issues in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic goals for civil and human rights programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Supervise and mentor program leads, fostering high-performing teams and ensuring effective collaboration across departments
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for civil and human rights initiatives, engaging with funders, media, and partner organizations
Required qualifications
  • J.D. and active bar license in good standing in at least one state
  • 12-15 years of experience in civil rights, human rights, or social justice law with demonstrated senior leadership responsibilities
  • Expertise in immigration, gender justice, reproductive rights, health equity, or racial justice
  • Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams, including direct supervision of senior staff
  • Experience as an external-facing leader, comfortable representing the organization to various stakeholders
