State Licensed VP of Legal

Job Summary

To support a growing legal function, the remote State Licensed VP of Legal will own the legal infrastructure, partner with executives on compliance and governance, and drive scalable contracting processes while ensuring exit-readiness standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Own the legal AI stack by implementing AI-powered tools for contract review and regulatory monitoring
• Partner with Product and Engineering to develop legal frameworks for data usage and algorithmic decision-making
• Architect scalable commercial contracting processes to empower Sales and simplify deal closures

Required qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing
• 15+ years of related professional legal experience, particularly in high-growth technology companies
• Deep SaaS commercial expertise, including subscription agreements and enterprise deal structuring
• Fluency in AI/ML product legal issues, including data licensing and privacy regulations
• Corporate governance experience, including serving as Board Secretary or equivalent
