State Licensed VP of Security

Job Summary

To lead security initiatives in an AI-driven environment, the full-time salaried State Licensed VP of Security will manage AI security functions, oversee security engineering, and enhance operational security while representing security interests to the executive team and enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead the AI security function, including building an internal AI gateway and implementing security measures for consumer-facing AI surfaces
• Direct security engineering efforts across AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec, ensuring secure design practices and robust detection engineering
• Oversee enterprise trust initiatives, managing security narratives for fundraising and customer security reviews while ensuring compliance with SOC 2 and PCI standards

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security, with at least 5 years in leadership roles during periods of hypergrowth
• Strong technical expertise in AI security, cloud-native security, and modern AppSec tooling
• Proven ability to build new security functions and teams from the ground up
• Experience managing corporate IT functions, including identity platforms and SaaS governance
• Excellent executive presence and communication skills for engaging with boards and enterprise customers
