Job Summary

Seeking a full-time U.S. State Policy Manager, the candidate will manage operations for the State Policy and Partnerships team, driving engagement with state and local governments on AI policy and related issues in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive operations for the U.S. State Policy and Partnerships team, including planning, communication, and coordination
• Support the execution of state and local policy strategies across all 50 states, focusing on high-priority jurisdictions
• Represent OpenAI in external meetings and forums while tracking legislative and regulatory developments across states

Required qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or related fields
• Strong understanding of state and local government structures and processes
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
• Proficient in translating complex policy issues into clear communications and recommendations
• Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams, including legal, technical, and policy areas
