Job Summary
Managing external loan staff resources, the full-time Senior State Tax Analyst will oversee the preparation, review, and filing of state tax returns, handle state income and franchise controversy, and analyze financial statement tax calculations while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the preparation, review, and filing of state tax returns, including oversight of annual returns and provision-to-return reconciliations
- Coordinate responses to governmental notices and audits regarding state income and franchise tax compliance, communicating risks to senior tax management
- Review quarterly and annual financial statement tax calculations in accordance with ASC 740 and analyze variance reports for management
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, with a specialization in Accounting favored
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Big Four tax department or a multinational publicly held company's tax department
- Working knowledge of federal and state corporate income tax laws, ASC 740, FIN #18, and FIN #48
- Project management skills and proficiency in tax research software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with OneSource, Alteryx, Hyperion, SAP, or Power BI is a plus
- CPA license or passage of CPA examination preferred
