Storage Backup Engineer
Job Summary
To support a federal civilian customer, the remote Storage Backup Engineer will design, implement, and manage enterprise storage and data protection solutions, requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience with SAN/NAS platforms and enterprise backup software.
Key responsibilities
- Administer enterprise SAN and NAS storage platforms, including provisioning and performance tuning
- Design and maintain enterprise backup architecture using tools like Veeam or Commvault across on-premises and cloud targets
- Support the implementation of the business disaster continuity and recovery (BDCR) solution, including replication and recovery testing
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience administering enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) and backup systems
- Hands-on experience with enterprise backup platforms (Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, or similar)
- Experience with cloud storage and backup targets (AWS S3/EBS/FSx or equivalent)
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
