Structural Designer 3

Job Summary

Offering a remote work-from-home schedule with occasional office visits, the full-time Structural Designer 3 will prepare civil and structural design packages for substation projects, develop site layout and construction deliverables, and coordinate with various project teams to resolve design issues.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare drafting and design deliverables for civil and structural aspects of substation projects
• Coordinate with electrical and civil/structural teams to address design interfaces and technical questions
• Provide technical guidance to junior designers and support quality checks and interdisciplinary reviews

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Drafting, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical experience
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in substation civil/structural design with responsibility for drawing packages
• Experience in civil site development, including grading, drainage, and trench layout
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD design using MicroStation, AutoCAD, and related platforms
• Experience in structural design involving foundations and utility infrastructure detailing
