Structural Engineer (Australia)

Job Summary

Seeking experienced Structural Engineers (Australia) for a fully remote contract role where they will design, create, and evaluate AI training tasks based on real-world structural engineering challenges, with a commitment of 10-40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design AI training tasks rooted in structural engineering problems, including analysis, design, simulation, and code compliance
• Write clear problem statements and develop deterministic scoring checkers and reference solutions for each task
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy and provide expert feedback to enhance AI performance in structural engineering

Required qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field (BE required; ME or PhD is a plus)
• Applied experience in structural analysis and design, with proficiency in OpenSees
• Familiarity with design standards such as AS 3600, AS 4100, Eurocode, or ACI 318/AISC 360
• Comfort with concepts like pushover analysis, response spectrum analysis, and performance-based design
• Able to formulate engineering problems clearly and write unambiguous problem statements
