Structural Engineer (UK Licensed)

Job Summary

To support the advancement of AI in structural engineering, a remote contract opportunity is available for a Structural Engineer (UK Licensed) who will design and evaluate AI training tasks based on real-world engineering challenges, focusing on areas such as seismic design and finite element analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design AI training tasks rooted in structural engineering problems, including analysis and code compliance
• Write clear problem statements and develop deterministic scoring checkers and reference solutions for each task
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy and adherence to relevant engineering standards

Required qualifications

• BEng in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field; MEng or PhD is a plus
• Applied experience in structural analysis and design with proficiency in OpenSees
• Familiarity with design standards such as Eurocode and BS 8110
• Comfort with concepts like pushover analysis and performance-based design
• Able to formulate engineering problems clearly and write unambiguous problem statements
