Student Payments Collections Advisor

Job Summary

Managing overdue payments, the full-time temporary Student Payments Collections Advisor will communicate with students regarding outstanding tuition fees, negotiate payment arrangements, and provide support while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Contact students with unpaid balances and discuss solutions, including payment plans and financial aid options
• Maintain positive relationships with students through empathetic communication and provide accurate information about payment options
• Document all interactions and generate reports on collection efforts and outstanding balances for management

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of related experience, or an associate degree or higher with a minimum of 1 year of related experience
• Previous experience in student accounts, financial aid, collections, or customer service roles is beneficial
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
• Empathy and patience when dealing with students facing financial difficulties
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly
