Job Summary
To support a growing Substation team, the remote Substation BIM Subject Matter Expert will advance Building Information Modeling (BIM) practices, provide technical leadership, and mentor project teams while ensuring successful project execution and quality assurance.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Substation BIM standards, workflows, and best practices while providing production support and quality assurance
- Collaborate with clients to understand and implement BIM standards and serve as a technical point of contact for project execution planning
- Lead and mentor designers and drafters, coordinating BIM-related tasks and promoting continuous improvement across the organization
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Design, BIM, Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline; or an Associate degree with two additional years of relevant experience
- 7-10 years of experience in BIM, CAD, design, or engineering support roles, including 2+ years in electric utility or substation projects
- Demonstrated experience leading BIM standards development and project execution
- Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Strong understanding of model coordination, clash detection, and digital project delivery workflows
