Substation Designer

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Substation Designer, the full-time position will focus on creating substation design drawing packages and documents for electric power substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and modify electrical layout and plan drawings for substation equipment and structures
• Prepare electrical schematics and complete electrical wiring design drawings
• Collaborate with project teams and other disciplines to enhance efficiency and complete assigned work

Required qualifications

• 1+ years of direct substation physical and electrical design experience using CAD software
• Proficient in 2D and 3D design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD
• Associate's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations to support design tasks
• Experience working on EPC or design-build contract types
