Substation Designer

Job Summary

To support the future of energy production, the full-time Substation Designer will create comprehensive substation design packages and collaborate with internal and external teams, with the flexibility to work remotely or from various U.S. and Canadian office locations.

Key responsibilities

• Complete substation design packages, including layouts, single line diagrams, and control design
• Design renewable energy collector systems for wind and solar projects, including medium voltage systems and AC/DC distribution
• Interface with project teams and take ownership of projects to meet client expectations while developing standards and processes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in drafting/electrical design
• 5+ years of experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar software in power delivery or renewable energy
• Strong CAD skills adhering to industry drafting standards
• Authorization for full-time work in Canada
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems and applicable industry codes and standards
