Substation Designer

Job Summary

To support the evolving energy production landscape, the full-time Substation Designer will create comprehensive substation design packages and collaborate with internal and external teams, with the option to work remotely or from various office locations in Canada and the U.S.

Key responsibilities

• Complete substation switchyard and protection/control design packages, including diagrams and layouts
• Design renewable energy collector systems, including medium voltage systems and energy storage solutions
• Interface with project teams to ensure project ownership and exceed client expectations

Required qualifications

• Minimum diploma or bachelor's degree in drafting or electrical design
• 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or related software in power delivery or renewable energy
• Strong CAD skills with adherence to industry drafting standards
• Authorization for full-time work in Canada
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems and applicable industry codes and standards is a plus
