Substation Designer

Job Summary

To support the evolving energy production landscape, the full-time Substation Designer will create comprehensive substation design packages and collaborate with cross-functional teams, working remotely or from various office locations in Canada and the U.S.

Key responsibilities

• Complete substation switchyard and protection/control design packages, including diagrams and layouts
• Design renewable energy collector systems for wind and solar projects, including medium voltage systems and energy storage solutions
• Interface with internal and external teams to ensure project ownership and exceed client expectations

Required qualifications

• Minimum diploma or bachelor's degree in drafting or electrical design
• 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or related software in power delivery or renewable energy
• Strong CAD skills with adherence to drafting standards
• Authorization for full-time work in Canada
• Knowledge of renewable energy industry codes and standards is a plus
