Substation Designer

Job Summary

To support the evolving energy production landscape, the full-time Substation Designer will create comprehensive substation design packages and renewable energy collector system designs, collaborating with internal and external teams while working remotely or from various office locations in the U.S. and Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Complete substation switchyard and protection/control design packages, including diagrams and layouts
• Design renewable energy collector systems, including medium voltage systems and battery energy storage systems
• Interface with team members to ensure project ownership and exceed client expectations

Required qualifications

• Minimum diploma or bachelor's degree in drafting/electrical design
• 5+ years of experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or related software in power delivery or renewable energy
• Strong CAD skills and understanding of industry drafting standards
• Authorization for full-time work in Canada
• Experience with renewable energy projects, including knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards
