Substation Drafter

Job Summary

Working in a full-time capacity, the Substation Drafter will create substation design drawings and drafting packages for electric power substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV, utilizing MicroStation and AutoCAD software while collaborating with design engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Complete drafting assignments for Protection & Control, SCADA, and Communications drawings, including Single Line Diagrams and Wiring Diagrams
• Execute drafting tasks for Physical Electrical drawings such as General Arrangement and Electrical Plans
• Support remote office overflow CAD workload, coordinating with other drafters and designers as needed

Required qualifications

• Associates Degree in Technical Design Field or Drafting
• 3+ years of drafting and detailing experience for electric utility design projects
• Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, including AutoCAD Electrical
• Experience with MicroStation V7/V8/V8i, including MicroStation Substation
• Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures
