Substation Physical Designer

Job Summary

Collaborating with engineers and designers in high and extra high voltage substation design, the full-time Substation Physical Designer will prepare detailed design documents, incorporate vendor information, and conduct site walkdowns, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, and various detailed design documents for substation projects
• Interpret vendor information and integrate it into design deliverables
• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities to ensure design accuracy and compliance

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Drafting, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical experience with drafting coursework
• Minimum of 8 years of substation physical design experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Familiarity with Bentley Substation Design
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer assistance
