Substation Physical Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the physical design of high-voltage substations in a full-time remote capacity, the Substation Physical Engineer III will develop design packages for renewable energy interconnections, ensuring compliance with utility requirements while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop physical substation design packages, including general arrangement drawings and equipment layouts
• Coordinate with various engineering teams to deliver integrated design packages and ensure technical accuracy
• Support client interactions and present design assumptions while aligning documentation with client expectations

Required qualifications:

• Associate's degree or greater in a related engineering discipline; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 5+ years of relevant substation physical design experience
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, including 3D design experience
• Demonstrated experience developing general arrangement drawings and knowledge of high-voltage substation equipment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage fast-turn assignments
