Job Summary
To support the design of electric power substations from 4kV to 500kV, the full-time Substation Protection Designer will create detailed design drawing packages, including Protection & Control and Physical Electrical drawings, while collaborating with various engineering disciplines.
Key responsibilities
- Complete drafting assignments for Protection & Control, SCADA, and Communications drawings, including single line diagrams and wiring diagrams
- Draft Physical Electrical drawings such as general arrangements, electrical plans, and structural details as required by project scope
- Assist with remote office CAD workload on an as-needed basis, coordinating with other CAD leads
Required qualifications
- High School diploma with relevant experience (6+ months for Level 1, 1+ years for Level 2, 2+ years for Level 3)
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting and detailing
- Knowledge of drafting standards, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to create and modify drawings based on engineer-provided markups
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Windows operating systems
