Job Summary
Driving the design of high-voltage substations, the full-time Substation Protection Engineer will develop protection and control design packages, including single-line diagrams and schematics, while working remotely and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support renewable energy interconnections.
Key responsibilities
- Develop protection and control design packages for renewable energy substations, including single-line and three-line diagrams
- Independently design collector and interconnection substation P&C systems while adapting to evolving information
- Coordinate with various teams to deliver integrated design packages and ensure compliance with safety standards
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree or greater in a related engineering discipline; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5+ years of relevant substation Protection & Control design experience
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, including AutoCAD Electrical
- Demonstrated experience developing single-line and three-line diagrams, AC and DC schematics, and P&C documentation
- Working knowledge of high-voltage substation equipment and protection philosophies
