Supervising Editor, Technology

Job Summary

To manage a portion of the technology team, the full-time Supervising Editor, Technology will collaborate with the Senior Editor to plan coverage, assign stories, and oversee the editing process while working either remotely or from New York City.

Key responsibilities:

• Set the strategy for the technology beat and assign pieces to staff writers and freelancers
• Project-manage long-form guides and short-form articles, setting priorities and deadlines while editing drafts
• Oversee the career development of writers, including hiring and onboarding freelance support staff as needed

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of editing experience at an online media company, with at least two years managing writers
• 3+ years of project and process management experience in an editorial environment
• Exceptional editorial judgment and knowledge of service journalism and the consumer technology industry
